Psychoeducational Assessments for IEPs and diagnosis of learning disorders involve in office testing, classroom observation, parent/teacher rating scales, records review and generally attendance at IEP meetings. Assessments may be parent funded or district funded.  Areas evaluated inculde cognitive abilities, communication, academic skills, processing skills, social emotional, adaptive and prevocational skills. Reports include detailed, personalized recommendations specific to the concerns in the reason for referral.   

Neuropsychological Assessment focuses on identifying the interaction between neurology and functions.  Assessment is often indicated in neurodevelopmental disorders.  Assessment areas include cognitive abilities, attention, executive functioning, motor skills, communication, academic skills, processing skills, social emotional, adaptive and prevocational skills. Typically testing is 10 hours total.  Reports include detailed, personalized recommendations specific to the concerns in the reason for referral.   

Consultation is available for IEPs, Fair Hearing and private educational planning. Forensic consultation is available to review existing evaluations, IEPs, etc. and consultation for PI or other legal actions.  

Expert Witness work including testimony, is available for Due Process hearings, Fair Hearing, Federal (ADA) court and District Court actions. Dr. Simun does not perform custody evaluations.
